Crown International has enjoyed nearly 60 years as a company, beginning in the 1940s as a manufacturer of rugged and compact open-reel tape recorders. The 1960s introduction of the DC300 amplifier with its patented solid-state amplifier design moved Crown into a leadership position in worldwide power amplifier markets. The decades from the 1970s through the 1990s saw Crown introduce a host of leading-edge technologies and products, consistently raising the bar for power amplifier performance and reliability.

Acquired by Harman International in 2000, Crown has continued to move forward, producing numerous innovative designs including their I-Tech Series touring amplifiers, the world's most advanced professional amplifier and representing the pinnacle of their 30-plus years of amplifier leadership. Crown's current product line embodies the reliability and innovation that have long been their hallmarks.

Today, Crown employs more than 500 people in operations that include the complete in-house design, manufacturing, sales and marketing of high-technology power and networked electronic products.
